PLATANITIS

I was born in Athens and studied Informatic Technologies at the University of Piraeus. Since my school years, my desire to study humans was intense. I played basketball at an amateur level for many years, however some serious injuries led me to listen closely to my body, and ponder on what I could do to take care of it. I then found Shiatsu.

In 2012, i started my Shiatsu training which lasted 3 years. Then one year of Chinese Medicine and Philosophy followed. I am a Certified Member of the Hellenic Shiatsu Society. My purpose is to spread awareness of Shiatsu, through presentations and seminars, as well as the benefits that one can experience from this technique in their everyday life.

In summary, Shiatsu has helped me understand my physical body, its organs and its functions, listen to my emotions on a deeper level, as well as observe the ways the mind analyses and composes thought. Throughout this journey, I realised something that can only be described simply in one phrase, “body’s stance affects our manifestation in life…”.

COLLABORATIONS

Keeping in mind that Shiatsu, in many of its manifestations, has to do with connection and harmony, I have consciously decided to work with people whose endeavors impress me. One such place is Inner Hive by Konstantinos and Bryony. Shiatsu sessions also take place at Tree of Joy by Joe Karydakis, a yoga teacher, where yoga classes and other social activities are held. Finally, I am privileged to work with the Unique Horsemanship of Electra Asilian, a psychologist, specialist systemic-family psychotherapist and therapeutic horse riding teacher. This is a very special partnership, as I have the opportunity to apply the therapeutic art of Shiatsu to horses, which are used in educational and curative ways in children and adults who may face problems or not necessarily.
